Lord thank you. We thank you so much for blessing us with this day. We ask that you guide our hearts guide our minds and souls. We be led by this word your word this morning and that you forgive us wherever we are wrong direct us where we are wrong and that you need us to show the love that you have shown us to the world as an example of what love in Jesus Christ can be I pray in the name of Jesus Christ and everyone here. I'm praying. I hope the everybody here was able to keep warm and I'll finally get hurt and restored but I know what a week right now. It seems like we're starting the year off, I guess 20/20 doesn't cuz I don't have nothing 2021 but Exactly. I saw a Facebook post and it says 20 21 century coronavirus to saying that they're trying to keep us indoors and says hey one with the winter storms. This is how it's done right now that my wife is not going to be here this morning last night. She was being a little bit under the weather. She was hoping she feel a lot better this morning, but she didn't show up. I was sending sister Jan hear that maybe I gave her too much NyQuil. I'm not sure but she couldn't wake up this morning. She was also in your prayers. All right song.

You know this whole week with this whole fries and I would just hole up. I mean, it was just something that even expected right? And normally I stay on top of these things. And I normally if I see like, you know, the weather system might just come in I'll go and I'll gas up I'll go and I'll get extra water. I'll get some canned food or something like that, but I didn't expect this to happen. You know something like this was going to happen to us here in Nevada. Psych your we go again. But you know the reflecting on this week, it's a it's a great opportunity for us to show and reflect that the Jesus the image of Christ and Love Of Christ to other people in one of the ways that we do not share the the the the love of Christ to others is I was going to H-E-B on the shopping carts with all the stuff and leaving everybody without anything right and shame on people that we could have done this week. I know I lost I lost power for 12 hours. I didn't I didn't know how long I wasn't be without power. So what we did is we went to my mother-in-law's house up here in Los Angels. She had power everything was great. We had dinner we started playing cards and another game of a different game of cards her power goes off so weird. Selena the good thing is a sign on to my thermostat right? I may be like right now if I want to if I want to be a jerk I can put my AC real cold in heaven Elizabeth butt up. Yes. I mean, so I was able to connect to my to my thermos and I said, okay, that means my Wi-Fi is on that means everything the power is back on so we came and we checked and so instead of us staying over there were able to bring my mother-in-law over to the house right in and you know, she was able to be warm or able to have a nice breakfast in the morning. And then what happens is, you know, they get their power restored and then my sisters that cave we haven't had power in 2 days. Can I stay at your house now, they will come on over. Let me wear able to bless others and in moments like this I know for the time called me yesterday and now that's enough that they don't I mean we could also call people hate check up on people. How you doing, right? And I thought that was of course in the middle part call. Brothers by the time that I was going next door and I was going to put an animal down some dogs got to it and it was a golden describing just it was missing a whole jar of the tongue was hanging out and it was it was not was just torn into pieces and and I had to just go out there and and I finally got ahold of my neighbors and then I said we need to put this this animal down. So he he said go ahead and go do it. And so NSR just thinking that that poor and we were just following the following the female does. It was a male goat. He was following the female and then there was a time where he just laid down there was like, you know what it's it was I mean it was having difficulty breathing. And so, you know, I was here I was feeling sorry. I don't answer then but I started thinking about us. It's what we do. The Humane thing for us to do is put it down. But what about when we are suffering when we are suffering with with with a habit with a sin. All right. I mean we we we we tend to shy away from God as well. But what is God God God is trying to restore us that is wanting to do to bring us back and I do too but it's it's on us for us to come to him and say Lord restore me what I want talk about it a little bit today is restoration is the power of the Holy Spirit and that's why I titled that today's sermon got power and so here we are. We're thinking of the power that we have in our home. But what about our spiritual life? Do we have that power do we got power? There's plenty of power that the holy spirit is willing to offer. It says that we have to take we have to gain access to that power.

I was reading that he of course. I was some of the words that we're learning this year. That's your world learning words that covid-19 coronavirus fuel rail ride wash your hands this this long as you know for 30 seconds. No washing. So now this year I learned what it means e r c o t e Council of Texas also was reading up on on on on a power outages in power failures and you know that the power to the grid that we have here, but they're caught sad says it's the electric reliability Council of Texas, but it manages the flow of electric power on the Texas interconnection and supplies power to more than 25 million, Texas customers. Let's representing about 90% of the state's electric load. That's that's a huge load when I was reading up on this was an article that said that the people that the board members of this earth cut spent a whopping 40 seconds discussing, you know, I'm prepared for this winter storm on the February 9th meeting. So let me know that they're getting a lot of angry about this, you know, if you only spent 40 seconds preparing for this for this winter storm that was coming up. That's all I was reading through through throughout the internet in 2018 text finally showed multiple board members with five to six figure salaries despite only working 5 to 15 hours a week. Do they make some good money and the CEOs in 2018. He was given $883,000 I said, I mean that they have a huge responsibility and you have to spend 40 seconds on preparing for this winter. You know, that's they're getting a lot of pushback on that. I'd like to talk about electricity and and all that good stuff. I let you know. I was doing a lot of research. I came across a little electric joke. All right. So that was a a biologist and an electric engineer there on death. Row waiting to go into the electric chair. The chemist was brought first. Do you have anything to say as the Executioner striping him in no reply the chemist the Executioner flick the switch and nothing happened. So under this particular state law if an execution attempt fails the prisoners to be released so the chemist was released. Dim the biologist was brought forward. Do you have anything you want to say? No, just get on with it the Executioner flick the switch. And again, nothing happened to the biologist was released. Then the electrical engineer was brought forward. Do you have anything you want to say? Ask the Executioner? Yes replied the engineer if you swap the red and blue wires over you might get this thing work. Just left for him to stay quiet. But we thank you. Once again for allowing us to be here father. We thank you Lord.

But for those that are in attendance today Lord, and for those doors that that wanted to be here Lord, but just couldn't father for illness or because they're they're still getting their things situated at Home Father. We ask that you be able to be their father Supply them with anything. They may need father also pray for my wife right now. I know she's feeling under the weather father. Please restore her health father put your heating hand over her father and also put your healing hand over any one of us not being be feeling under the weather. So there's we just thank you for allowing us to be able to to be your father despite this week father. We thank you Lord because we know that you take care of us. You look after his father. I know we just thank you for your love and your patience and and and we just thank you for for who you are father Lord. I pray that tell you take control father. That's it would be you Lord speaking through me father and that I not be the one Speaking father in Jesus name. Amen. ISO again got power. Right? And so this week everybody was talking about that their power was out my sister and I know I was reading it on Facebook. I mean really really upset and I have Magic Valley. So this other people they had Magic Valley they were riding to Magic Valley and and the other website or on their Facebook page and there was people that 72 hours 90 hours. I read on one of them. My sister went for days without any power and so we start singing. I mean what what happens when you don't have to take this is the electricity in our homes with taken for granted what I mean, there's times where it when our power went out for 12 hours. It will not like at 5:30 in the morning and knowing that that that we didn't have power. I still go into the bathroom and I'm trying to power outage, right we try to charge our phones. We don't have access to our TVs anymore. Right? I mean your Wi-Fi your Wi-Fi is gone so you don't have a key. To the internet right up. I know I was having limited cell phone coverage out where I live. I'm it was just buffering buffering. I was like, okay forget this time. I'm going to get too impatient probably break my phone but I was still dependent on electricity on this power source. And what happens to our phones are phones were trying to conserve our energy. I saw a lot of people going into their cars to charge your phone stay warm. A lot of people were in their car is charging your phone. I mean, what do go into the code to go and charge your phone. There wasn't a waste gas to charge your phone. But what about what are we going to do to charge our spirits up? How are we what are we doing to get the power of the Holy Spirit to be manifested in us? What are we doing? I mean we will do so much for this little cell phone. But what about this Soul this phone and it in the year right now? Coastal do the most current one at the iPhone 12 going to fade away is he's going to break. I want to buy me to throw this away and then two or three years or trade it in for another phone, but what about her spirit? We also focus on her spirit. Our spirit is going to spend an eternity. Where is he going to spend? It's up to us what we choose to do with our lives but in Acts 1:3 through 8. I saw it stopped working about power. Here's his inverse psoriasis after his suffering. He presented himself to them and gave them many convincing proof that he was alive. He appear to them over a. Of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom of God. And of course here, we're seeing that the resurrected Jesus right? He was he was alive and showing himself and presenting so to his disciples this for over a. Of 40 days. Are you speaking about the kingdom of God verse 4 on one occasion while he was eating with them he gave this command do not leave Jerusalem. But wait for the gift my father promised. Which you have heard me speak about verse 5 says for John baptized with water. But in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit verse 6 is when they gather around him and ask Lord. Are you at this time going to restore the Kingdom of Israel? Of course here, they're thinking that you know what their carnal mind the things that you want to restore the state of Israel. And so he says to them it is not for you to know the times or dates. The father has said by his own authority Summerstage you receive but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my Witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea Samaria and the ends of the Earth 2 here we see in Judea their Hometown the home and this is what God wants us to do you want us to be able to witness to people in our hometown some Marriott the Jews they hated the people of Samaria. They call them half-breeds, right? So God is also going to send us to places. We're not going to want to be at I don't like Jonah Jonah did not want to go to Nineveh Jonah. Wanted to see if it destroyed by God and we talked about this the other day where he even said inactive waiting forgot to destroy that that the nation or that country. And also is it in to the ends of the Earth to places that we've never been to before and I got winning HOH we might have a looks like we might be going to Oklahoma again. We got invited to to a tenant before taking it in a in a conference out there. So God waiting. Like I said, we will be out there and it's something that we've never done before we never been out of the state to to go and do something like this and it's what a great opportunity and it's ignore excited about this. But in the X2, so here we see that the promise of the Holy Spirit Jesus and hate do not leave Jerusalem. Wait for the gift wait for this power. So we seen the manifestation here. We see Dan in Acts 2:1 through for his when the day of Pentecost came. They were all together in one place 78 sound like the blowing of a violent win came from heaven and fill the whole house where they were sitting this all would seem to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them verse forces. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as a spirit in navilleton. So here we see that the spirit not only gives power that the spirit also enables us we do things that we normally wouldn't be able to do things since we were able to have a babysitter that we know. My sister was staying with us. We decided to know what it is go to Applebee's and have dinner out there. We went to Applebee's and as we enter xenos, it was these people that were out there, you know that they were asking for for some some change and of course this week. I haven't been to the bank and with everything has been going on. I haven't been able to to to to get to any money from the bank and not like I told you I'm sometimes I normally keep us some money a couple dollars so that we can be able to tell people So then what will that work inside? I mean, we're trying to get our appetizer and just this this feeling inside of me is telling me that person is out there and it is cold. It is cold out there and here you are in the warm right in a warm atmosphere. You're about to enjoy a nice little warm appetizer. And what about that person and I ain't Lettin the conviction tugging at me and tug near me. That's why I said you know, what may I have a coffee and it to go Covington that's enough to keep her warm as I went out there now for her the coffee that was a table right by the window right where it was a young lady the young lady was out there. And so they started complaining and saying hey, can you move us from a different table? Because I'm going to be able to enjoy my hamburger. I mean that in my wife's is it I have a radar ears. I can hear every conversation in the restaurant. But I mean, I was just God's gift to us.

We are managers. We are stewards right where managers what we have got analysis to have your finances your house your car. Any anything that you own right? God has allowed you to possess it but it is to be using how do we manage that? I've been a store manager before a Dairy Queen all the supplies. They don't make money for the owner's right? I have to use it the way supposed to be used but we are all managers. We are stewards of everything that God has allowed to possess and what are we doing with it? Are we blessing others? I mean it you got going to bless you so that you can bless others the bottom line God blesses you so that you can bless others and him if you say what why did God doesn't bless me or you blessing others. I we have to learn how to be a blessing to other people. So I'm going to talk real quick and I'm going to try to go to the list has five minutes of the holy spirit in the life of Christian 10 rolls of the Holy Spirit. The first one is the holy spirit is a helper who teaches and reminds nights the Holy Spirit as a helper who teaches and remind and John 14:26. This is what the advocate the Holy Spirit whom the father will send in my name will teach you all things and we'll will remind you of everything I have said it. So the Greek word here for it for advocate. Is a paracletos potatoes and that means legal counsel to the Holy Spirit provides wise counsel to Christ followers. Jesus knew he would be going away and that his followers would need the Holy Spirit as a Helper and an advocate to remind them of his teaching those Holy Spirit reminds us and remind me about my my testimony when I gave my life to Christ at that moment when I realized it was God that was calling me for me to repent. All of a sudden I remembered everything. I had learned in church and Sunday school the red to Primera Iglesia Bautista in Harlingen. We were hoping it would be like 10:30 all the vents. Going to come pick us up in osun. 10:45 comes around Phoebe. So there we go back to go to church to be honest and our parents just wanted to say that was her free time right get all these five kids out of the house until we go to church but everything, you know, it was it was interesting because everything that I had learned in Sunday school was being reminded to me when I was facing myself in the mirror, and I knew that I need to repent everything. I was reminded by everything. That's what the Holy Spirit does it remind you. I have hope in Jesus Christ if I give my life to Jesus Christ, I will be forgiven it and I can Eternal life started coming in and that's what the Holy Spirit does it it it teaches and it reminds number to the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and Johnson 7th grader says, but barely Trudy very truly. I tell you it is for your good that I am going away unless I go away The Advocate when I come to you, but if I go I will send him to you when he comes he will prove the world to be in the wrong about Sin and righteousness and judgment, but he received in these verses in John 16 x wait at the holy spirit will prove sin will also improve righteousness and they're also proved the Judgment of the world for people opening up for the Judgment of the world. The Holy Spirit convicts the world when we are doing something wrong. The holy spirit is also convey. What you're doing is wrong. What you thinking is wrong what you thinking of doing it's wrong and if we don't have conviction if we don't have conviction, maybe our bodies already used to the since it's already know this it it has become a habit already. So it's very important that we listen to that knowledge in our hearts. I was talking to 222 some some kid just got into some trouble and he's like man. I got a I got a DWI. I was like I was going out and I was on the expressway. I hit something and I ended up my car ended up starting and I was there waiting for somebody so I can borrow their phone and then a cop, and they got me for DWI anything inside of you not to go when I was leaving my house. I felt something telling me don't go don't go don't go whenever you get that conviction. We need to pay attention to that. How many of us are our Speed Racers on the expressway that's there, but I mean sometimes God is putting obstacles in our way so that we can slow down because we don't know what lies ahead. Does so it's very important that we we watch for the conviction of the Holy Spirit number three to the Holy Spirit dwells in Believers and fills them and 1st Corinthians 6 19 and 20. And this is one of my favorite verses just do you not know that your bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have received from God you are not your own. You were bought at a price there for honor God with your body. Just why what why are we supposed to honor God with our bodies? Because one we were bought at a price. What price was that? The life of Jesus Christ and also says that he dwells in Believers and feels them so we talked about this plenty of times work if it's kind of we're supposed to have my my my father-in-law move in for a couple of weeks and so he didn't come to the house and where cuz we had my sister everything was going it was a it was a chaotic we might my wife and I were trying us were sweeping and mopping were cleaning. I mean, we're scrubbing the the showers at toys. We we wanted to we wanted to make the house clean for them to come in right and so that's kind of like a week if we expect the Holy Spirit to live in the world, right? Keep ourselves. Holy. I got juice. That's Worth Zoo four wheelers with our bodies are for honor God with your bodies number for the holy spirit is a source of Revelation wisdom and power. 1st Corinthians 2 10 through 11. It says these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit the spirit searches all things even the Deep things of God for who and I love this versus I hear this is for who knows a person's thoughts. Who knows your thoughts. God does what is any other person know your thoughts like right now you're thinking something and so we we we we we we do not know what God is stinky. We don't know what God is up to write it. So it says here who knows a person that accept their own their own Spirit within them. In the same way. No one knows the thoughts of God, except the spirit of God. Does it say God gives his followers a holy spirit so that way we may know him better. Is the holy spirit is God spirit and knows the thoughts of God and reviews those thoughts to Believers to the Holy Spirit open Believers eyes to the hope of Salvation And The Inheritance that they have in Christ to the hope of Salvation member. I'll send you this it's it's the funny thing is that night that I had given my life to Christ. I told you I mentioned that I got a phone call and for somebody to get a hold of me on a Friday nights back in the day. Wow. I mean do we have cell phones like we do nowadays right back then we had beepers but but yeah in the be prevented, I mean the Beavers weren't too reliable and how the phone was just it was in my mom's room. It was I don't know how it happened but Again, when I thought I was I was going to die that night. I thought you know what something's happening to my body. That's it. I'm going to die. And when I get that phone call and I tell this person I feel like if I go to sleep I'm going to die. I don't want to go to sleep. I'm scared. I feel like this is it for me and this person confirms. Yes, you are going to die to me everything that I had learned in church with the spirit does fit it says right here. It says it opens up Believers eyes to the hope of Salvation by number 5 at the Holy Spirit guides to all truth including knowledge of what is to come in John 16:13. It says but when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you to all he will guide you into all the truth do not speak on his own. He will speak only what he hears and he would tell you what is yet to come. So here we see that the holy spirit is also called the spirit of truth because he guides Believers into all truth. Jesus told his disciples that the Holy Spirit would make known what he hears and would only speak what the father speaks. So he will see that again the holy spirit that guides to all truth including the house of what is to come number 6. Did the Holy Spirit give spiritual give to to believers? Write the characteristics of the Holy Spirit such as wisdom knowledge and power are manifested in the lives of Believers for the good of others. And this is one at one of the things that kind of example Lord you help me come up with an example, but there's a song that says if we are the body if we are the body of Christ, we we belong to the body of Christ. We are a member it's kind of like some of us some of us with enough clothes by not to write on people's doors. And we take the word of God to people write some of us. We all play a role in in being part of the body of Christ, but didn't like the song goes on to say if we are the body, why aren't our hands reaching why aren't our arms reaching out to people why are my feet taking the word of God to people Why isn't his love not why is his love not showing through us? And we said that we are the body of Christ. 1st Corinthians 12 7 through 11 says now to each one the manifestation of the spirit is given for the common good to one that we all have different gifts. We all have different talents to one there is given through the spirit a message of wisdom to another a message of knowledge by means of The Same Spirit to another Faith by The Same Spirit to another gift of healing by that one Spirit to another miraculous powers to another prophecy to another distinguishing between spirits to another speaking in different kinds of tongue as we saw here in the book of Acts and still into still another the interpretation of tongues. So all of these are the work on one and the same spirit and he distributes them to each one just as he determines the Holy Spirit also give us. Gibbs number 7. The holy spirit is a seal in the lives of Believers. We have two bathrooms. And this was asleep and I don't want to bother her and when I was looking at the toilet paper on his leg who did that to the toilet paper. I saw the role of the hotels they kind of food, they wrap a kind of weird and it is like a triangle with the ending but it was a strange thing about it was it was it was it was and it was like somebody Sealed it and stamped. It had to wake her up for this how far is wheat a week? And she didn't even know how that happened. So so that kind of just reminded me of the holy spirit is a seal and you can fancy I was like, why was it was just be on me for the holy spirit is the seal in the lives of Believers in Ephesians, 1:13. It says and you also were included in Christ. When you heard the message of Truth The Gospel of your salvation when you believed you were marked in him with the seal the promised. Holy spirit. So we are we are right and it's a mark of our adoption. As God's children, that's that's uses for we are now in God's family does Jesus send the Holy Spirit to the followers so that they could be confident in their salvation and how many of us that was a question that I asked myself. How confident are we with our Salvation are we truly truly saved? If God were to say you know, what right now 11:32 minutes from now, that's it the work towards that you're going to cease to exist. Right? Are we confident enough? They were going to be no longer going to be like all yeah. I'm ready to go with God. I'm ready. I think it's four years ago to the day today. It's raining on Billy Graham passed away and I was reading an article this morning about it, you know that his son was saying that for years ago was the day when were my dad went to him know how sure are we of our Salvation? There's something were to happen right now. Would we go to heaven? Or do we have this question? Okay. You know what? I don't know. I hope I've done enough good. It doesn't matter what you've done. The thing is we have to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior in order for us to have eternal life and that's in John 3:16.

Exercise the number nine the holy spirit makes Believers new and gives them eternal life. Like it were just talking right now in Romans 8:10 370 says but if Christ is in you than even though your body is your body is subject to death because of sin the spirit gives life because of righteousness and if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you than he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal body because of his Spirit who lives in you so the spirits will also give us eternal life. What does it say in John 3:16 for God so loved the world by the world with every time we talk about the world of Sinners. It's a representation of the the Sinners of this world that he loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him. Whoever accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior would not perish but have everlasting life eternal life. And so again how positive are we if something were to happen if we get into heaven? I sometimes sometimes I'm just like Isaac are you 100% Sure. I tell myself even Within Myself. I'm I talk to myself alot of this is as long as you don't answer yourself, right, but I told myself.

But we have to be 100% sure.

This is a hear that the Holy Spirit works in the knives of Believers to renew to sanctify and to make us holy and again, holy we think we will use that term. Holy holy means it to be set apart, but not being a rooms, you know scared of the World Part for God's use for my body.. God wants us to go out there and you against share the gospel to be witnesses to testify of his love. This is a holy spirit raised Christ from the dead the holy spirit will give eternal life to Believers in Christ. The last one year and it just this is this is the Holy Spirit sanctifies and enables Believers to Bear good fruit in their lives. So one of the things I was I was telling myself, okay, how how sure are we or am I? That I am going to go to heaven. Is there like a self test that I can take an evaluation I can and this is evaluation in Galatians 5 where it talks about the the fruits of the spirits and the desires of the flesh. Which ones are we using to do you let do we let our flesh for filled its desires every single one desire. Or are we bearing good fruit the fruits of the spirit Galatians 5 16 through 21 walk by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the Flesh and when I went to this this 21-day fast the good thing that another good thing that came out of this is I no longer watch the news. I'm no longer on my Facebook trying to read all everything about what's going on in politics. Thank God that I was able to get rid of that cuz I mean you get upset for no reason. It's like they don't understand but

Such as a when your body is asking. I mean, how do you say that in English? Yes, she was coming off of hers until she was going to make herself something there cuz that's cuz that's what you would need for the seven days and boy did that smell good. And now you know what it is so good. I can't wait to have a bowl of that after the 7 days after my 7 days pass by I went to the refrigerator that got the desire things that you never desired before right? And so and then so the thing is is there it says here. When we walk by the spirit, you will not gratify the desires of the Flesh. And so we got to walk by the spirit does a verse 17 and says for the flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit? And that's why our biggest enemy. We think all that Devil. He's my big nose. The biggest enemy is your flesh. Why because your flesh is going to want it's contrary to your spirit is in the spirit what is contrary to the flesh there in conflict with each other so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the spirit, you are not under the law does the acts of the flesh are obvious? I thought you were going to the answer the flesh there obvious sexual immorality and it seems like everywhere. We look now right on our phones on Facebook on the computers images of stuff that we shouldn't I mean years ago, that would have been like a big No-No impurity and debauchery idolatry by I was watching the house watching this this Facebook that up for Lent the word Facebook to Facebook. I was watching this old documentary on on Vicente Fernandez. And he when he comes up, they said Mexico has an idle Vicente Fernandez not like to publicly just say that I mean right idolatry mean anything that we put before God can become a tar Idol. I mean why no, one of the things that I used to sometimes play hooky back in my early Christian days was for football when the Cowboys win today at 12 o clock to go to church today. I got to do some other stuff. So, what is it that we're putting that it could be a boyfriend or girlfriend.
